Evie Lastra West grew up in Orange County, California. Once an ex-gang member and two-time teen mother, she faced the decision to terminate her second unborn son. By God’s grace, she chose life, was redeemed, and now shares her story of transformation.
She is the author of “Revolving Choices: Playing Roulette with Life,” which recounts her journey as a young Hispanic girl searching for identity and the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Passionate about abstinence, life, and obedience, Evie has spoken in schools, churches, and community events.
In 1996, she moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, enrolling at Lee College, where she earned a B.A. in Intercultural Studies in 2001. She later completed her master’s in Public Safety from Tennessee Tech University and has served as a Cleveland police officer for over 21 years.
In 2017, her 20-year prayer was answered when she reunited with her son Joel, now a Miami University graduate living in Ohio.
